Joy brought about from new-style rural building in Yen Thuy district

(HBO) – In this year's rainy season, the travel by residents in Lac Luong commune is much more convenient. There are no longer muddy roads, as they have been asphalted and concreted. In late March, villagers were delighted and proud to receive a certificate recognising the commune as meeting new-style rural standards. (HBO) - Exploiting the suitable soil and climatic conditions for growing custard apples, the people in Dong Bong village, Dong Tam commune (Lac Thuy) have replicated the varieties of custard apple, having high economic efficiency and are well received by the market. Currently, the whole commune has 55 hectares, especially Dong Bong village has over 30 hectares. At the end of 2020, Dong Bong custard apples were recognized as a provincial 3-star OCOP product. Being harvested twice a year with high selling price and stable market, custard apples have brought a significant source of income for many households.

New rice varieties bring Muong Dong residents out of poverty

(HBO) - Unlike previous years, in the spring crop of 2023, the family of Bui Thi Phuc in Mo hamlet, Kim Lap commune, Kim Boi district has bravely switched to planting the new Thien uu 8 rice variety on a site of over 2,800sq.m. Right from the beginning of the crop, Phuc's family was provided with the rice variety and guided through each stage of sowing, planting and caring by staff from the Vietnam National Seed Group (Vinaseed). With a growth period of 125 - 130 days, disease resistance, and a yield of over 7 tonnes per ha, the family earned over 32.7 million VND (1,420 USD) per ha after deducting production costs.
